was raised in Southern California
and took her Nurses' Training at
California Hospital School of
Nursing, graduating in 1970.
During the years she spent
raising a large family she
created and administered a number
of large pilot projects, some of
which continue to serve their
community more than 30 years
later. She is a clear,

an abundance of knowledge and the
